EVERYTHING IS PERMANENT

By Eric Bohr & Amy Sass

Mercury 20 Gallery, Oakland, 2014

The words: HAVE A SEAT. EVERYTHING IS PERMANENT are burned into the back of a decaying chair. Viewers are invited to sit and test the truth of this statement while comtemplating the family of suspended chairs and broken glass emerging and receding within the landscape of the gallery. EVERYTHING IS PERMANENT creates an uneasy story of precarious change, inviting the viewer to question the notion of stability, permanence, and the space beyond what we can see.
