KING MIDDLE SCHOOL MURAL
Led by muralist Edy Boone, this project connected local artists with the parent, student and teacher community at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in North Berkeley. I was pleased to be brought in as a local artist to work among this fabulous community on a section of the mural about climate change. My particular area depicts the California Fires.
Led by Edythe Boone, this mural was a collaboration between local artists and the community at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in North Berkeley. The thematic content & design ideas emerged from the students in conversations facilitated by Edy. Final designs were approved and families and students came to paint alongside local artists in specific areas of the mural.
The west side of the building was dedicated to imagery related to climate change: rising waters, California fires and solar power.
